some of the film i took on dan's birthday in durban, scanned.
taking real photos makes me feel more connected, and also a lot, more cautious, because there's something real at stake, and it costs money to develop, would like to develop my own, we'll see how that goes
Its always enjoyable reading what bloggers write, and of course seeing the pics that they post.
I love the first 2 pics, they feel so Durbs...they also feel time warpish. There is the sense that the neg was perhaps soaked in an (or is it a?) hallucinogenic...
There is also the sense that there could be pimping and parties behind the hotel, but the viewer knows that this is not the case. Rather, there is a quietness and simpleness to your existence.
I also love the final photo.....could be Brazil..could be the 80s?? or 60s??, its very undefined.
dude i shot them on this busted ass pentax i found in my dads study, its pretty fucken sweet its like digital but film? if you know what i mean? it auto focuses and reads light so you can set things pretty easily except the lens is fucked so you have to manual focus!
